What we build

Ground-up custom homes, built to fit your land

Every BlackRidge custom home starts by walking your property with you. Brayton listens to how you live, looks at what your lot allows, and gives you straight numbers. From there, the build is scoped to your family, your budget, and the land it will sit on.

  • One-story ranches, farmhouses, and two-story custom homes
  • Ground-up construction on rural land or residential lots
  • Homes designed around your family's routines and priorities
  • Barndominium-style builds when the site and use case fit
  • Site prep, foundation, framing, systems, and finish work coordinated by one builder
Who it's for

Homeowners who want it done once, done right

BlackRidge is a good fit if you value straight communication, a clean job site, and a builder who's on the property doing the work, not just managing subs from a truck. Whether you already own the land or you're planning ahead, Brayton will tell you what a real build looks like before you commit.

If you have plans already, we can work with your designer or architect. If you don't, we can help you find one and coordinate the design phase so what gets built matches what you asked for.

How we build

One builder from raw land to keys

Custom construction is months of decisions. Here's the standard we hold ourselves to from the first phone call to the final walkthrough.

Site work in-house

We prep our own sites

Land clearing, tree removal, grading, drainage, and driveway work happen on our schedule. No subcontractor telephone game between site prep and foundation.

Owner on the job

Brayton runs the build

The person quoting the job is the person building it. Dad's on the crew when a project needs a second set of skilled hands.

Materials that last

Specified for durability

Diamond Kote siding, KraftMaid cabinets, Cambria quartz, Behr Scuff Defense, Happy Feet 30 mil, and R-56 attic cellulose are recent examples. Every project's specs are chosen for the way you'll actually live in the home.

Straight communication

One number to call

Weekly updates, real photos of progress, and answers to your questions from the person actually building the home.

Clean sites

The lot stays tidy

Tools put away, materials covered, and the site left clean every night. A tidy job site is a safe job site and a sign of work being done right.

Family-owned

Accountability from day one

Family-owned and operated. You're not routing calls through a project manager, an admin, and a foreman, you're talking to Brayton.

Build path

From cleared lot to move-in day

Every custom home follows the same path. Site prep, foundation, framing, systems, exterior, and finish work. See a real BlackRidge build through each stage on the From the Ground Up section of the homepage, or browse finished work in the gallery.

Common questions

Frequently asked

Do you work with plans I already have?

Yes. If you already have architectural drawings, Brayton will review them, walk your site, and quote the build. If revisions are needed to fit the site or budget, he can coordinate directly with your designer.

Can BlackRidge build on rural land?

Yes. Rural builds are a specialty. Because BlackRidge performs its own site work, clearing, grading, driveways, drainage, you get one contractor coordinating both the site preparation and the home construction.

What kinds of custom homes do you build?

Ranch homes, farmhouses, one- and two-story custom builds, and barndominium-style structures when the use case fits. Every home is scoped to your land, family, and budget.

How does the quoting process start?

Give Brayton a call at (308) 238-8092 or submit the quote form on the homepage. He'll ask about your land, your rough scope, and any plans you have, then set a time to walk the property and give you real numbers.

Where does BlackRidge build?

Kansas and surrounding communities. If you're unsure whether your project is in range, call and Brayton will tell you honestly, for the right work, he'll travel.
