Company & owner

About BlackRidge Contracting

Who owns BlackRidge Contracting?

BlackRidge Contracting LLC is owned and run by Brayton Bandell. Brayton is the person who quotes your project, walks your site, and does the work. His dad is on the crew when a project needs a second set of skilled hands.

Where is BlackRidge Contracting located?

BlackRidge Contracting is a family-owned Kansas builder. The company serves Kansas and surrounding communities. For the exact hometown and specific service radius, call (308) 238-8092 and Brayton will confirm whether your project location is a fit.

What services does BlackRidge provide?

BlackRidge builds custom homes, detached garages, shops, outbuildings, decks, pergolas, outdoor rooms, and fencing. The company also self-performs site work: land clearing, tree removal, grading, drainage, driveways, and skid steer work.

Services

What BlackRidge does

Does BlackRidge build custom homes?

Yes. Custom home construction is a core service. Homes are built ground-up on rural land or residential lots and scoped to fit the property, family, and budget. See the Custom Homes page.

Does BlackRidge do land clearing and site preparation?

Yes. Site work is self-performed on owner-operated equipment. That includes land clearing, tree removal, grading, drainage, driveways, and skid steer work. See the Site Work page.

Does BlackRidge build garages, shops, or barndominiums?

Yes. Detached garages, workshops, outbuildings, and barndominium-style structures are all within scope. See the Garages & Outbuildings page.

Does BlackRidge build decks and outdoor living spaces?

Yes. Decks, pergolas, covered outdoor rooms, and residential fencing are offered. See the Outdoor Living page.

Can BlackRidge manage both site work and home construction?

Yes. That's the whole point of the business. Same builder from raw land through the final walkthrough means fewer subcontractor handoffs, one schedule, and one accountable person.

Process & quotes

Getting started

How does the quoting process start?

Call (308) 238-8092 or submit the quote form on the homepage. Brayton will ask about your scope, land, and any plans you have, then set a time to walk the site and give you real numbers.

Can BlackRidge work with plans I already have?

Yes. If you have architectural drawings, Brayton will review them, walk your site, and quote the build. He can coordinate directly with your designer if revisions are needed.

How long does a custom home take to build?

Every build is different. Timeline depends on scope, site conditions, finish choices, and material availability. Brayton will give you a real timeline as part of the quote, no vague promises.

What materials does BlackRidge use?

Materials are chosen for durability and how you'll actually live in the home. Recent projects have used Diamond Kote board-and-batten siding, KraftMaid custom cabinets, Cambria quartz countertops, Behr Scuff Defense paint, Happy Feet 30 mil flooring, and R-56 cellulose attic insulation. See the Materials & Finishes section on the homepage.

How do you communicate during construction?

Weekly updates, real photos of progress, and one number to call. The person you talk to is the person building your home.

Practical questions

The rest

Do you build on rural property?

Yes. Rural builds are a specialty. Because BlackRidge does its own site work, rural land clearing, grading, drainage, and driveway prep are handled by the same builder building the home.

What information should I provide when requesting a quote?

Rough scope (type of build, size, use case), the property location, whether you already own the land, whether you have plans, and any hard budget or timeline constraints. The more Brayton knows going in, the more useful the site walk will be.

How can I contact BlackRidge?

Call or text Brayton at (308) 238-8092, email [email protected], or submit the quote form on the homepage contact section.
